Hello,

We are experimenting with adding really low cost USB 3.0 disks as iscsi into a vmware cluster. The 3.0TB WD drives are working fine for the first 4 disks. When I connect 5, it does not even boot. We have extra cards, etc.

Thanks Chris

Hi chris,

This issue is probably better to be filed as a Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=Fedora

Once you have the bug created, just update the original question with the link to the bugzilla ticket so its easier to track.

Are these drives externally powered, or powered by the system bus? If the latter, 5x3TB drives surely use a lot of power, especially when spinning up. Even if they are externally powered, it might be worth trying a powered USB hub.
