I have stumbled across developer.ubuntu website , there is a link in getting started about "quickly" an integrated tool for building an "app" for fedora, the site does contain a video tutorial about quickly (youtube link). Also it is LGPL licensed. I'm not interested in building a new application for fedora , but the "quickly package" command was used to build the package though a "toy" example, wouldn't such package building tool be beneficial(specially for newbies like me)? is there a good alternative for it , will it be made available in fedora repos(they aren't present in 15 "Lovelock")? Another point to note it is python2 application.

Though i have no experience with either fedora or Debian packages , i feel such tools would make it easier for newbie package maintainers(and even encourage some to become maintainers)

Quickly is not packaged for Fedora but anyone is welcome to join as a Fedora package maintainer and help maintain it. If you are interested, feel free to get involved and I will be happy to help you get started

Whenever you are ready, follow the link and if you need help, you can drop me a mail. It is a fairly easy application to package
