How do I file a bug report?

I'm running Fedora 23. Under kernel 4.6.4 the sound works. Kernel 4.6.5 broke the sound - built-in analog went away leaving only HDA NVidia digital stereo, which doesn't provide any sound.

I downloaded/installed 4.6.6.200 yesterday - sound is still broken. I read that 4.6.6.300 has a fix for the sound problem, but it doesn't appear to be available for Fedora 23.

Do I need to file a bug report? If so, how?

Will the fix be made available for Fedora 23 or is it limited to Fedora 24?

The NVidia HDA device is most likely the audio for your HDMI port. Kernel 4.6.6.300 is a F24 kernel, 4.6.6.200 should be the same kernel for F23. If you want to keep your sound, keep using the 4.6.4 kernel entry on boot.

I see a lot of bug reports about this issue, so there's no need to file another one. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug... would be the place to do so.

According to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.... the fix for F24 got missed for F23, so it will be in the next kernel release for F23 when that happens.

It turns out the patch was dropped in F24 but not F23. I committed it to the F23 branch. I'm not going to respin the 4.6.6 build but it will show up in a build next week, either as an incremental build or as part of 4.6.7 depending on how the stable releases go.

Thanks for the information. I'll look forward to the new release.

Sadly, the speakers are hooked up to the default output, not NVidia HDMI

Of course, I was letting you know why didn't get any sound from it, just in case you didn't know. It's not completely clear from the name that it's the HDMI audio.
