Has anybody else experienced this issue? Perhaps i just need to wait for the next kernel update?

I'm also getting this problem in Fedora 24 after kernel update to 4.6.5-300. Version 4.6.4-301 still works.

Getting the same problem here. Unlike Zerion, though, booting 4.6.4-301 didn't help.

I'm also getting this problem, I suppose this affects only Skylake CPUs?

Well, i can join this group, Audio output doesn't work BUT ONLY when I plug in Headphones. Every other time is just fine.

Get a similar issue in F23 with 4.6.5, does not appear to be fixed by upgrade to 4.6.6 kernel

I was also getting this problem. The sound device did not even show up on lspci and certainly did not show up on the gnome audio settings screen. However, this problem appears to be fixed in the latest kernel update (4.6.6-300):

sudo dnf install kernel --enablerepo=updates-testing --best --allowerasing

Will this command cause me to get the testing branch of the kernel forever or just this once?

Just this once, similarly the --disablerepo will disable the selected repos only for the current command. Btw the 4.6.6-300 kernel seems to fix the problem! Thanks very much!

Didn't work for me. Gave me quite the runaround, as I'm using proprietary video drivers, and I forgot to grab kernel-devel with the new kernel.

if this didn't work for you they just pushed a new kernel update 4.6.6 which resolves the issue sudo dnf update --refresh

I just updated the kernel and got 4.6.6.200 - which doesn't fix the sound problem. How long before the updated kernel makes it to all the repositories? (using Fedora 23)

Issue still here - kernel 4.6.6-200.fc23.x86_64
