Can't boot into Windows 8.1 from grub, but booting from BIOS boot menu works just fine

Just as the title says: I've just installed Fedora 24 alongside Windows 8.1. I can boot into Fedora fine from grub, however when I select "windows boot manager" from within grub the screen goes black and nothing happens. When I go into my BIOS boot menu (F12 as soon as I turn it on) and select "windows boot manager", I can get in just fine.

Is grub2 my only option for bootloader?

Have you got a bios or a UEFI based computer?

At the moment there are a couple bugs that affect GRUB chainloading the Windows boot manager on UEFI systems. The work around right now is to choose Windows boot manager from the firmware boot manager, just as you are doing.
