Fedora17: issue in installing rpm

I tried installing the following rpm and it didnt work. Can someone pls help me to solve this issue. It crashes my mind always.

$ rpm -i nss-softokn-freebl-3.13.4-2.fc17.i686.rpm 
error: nss-softokn-freebl-3.13.4-2.fc17.i686.rpm: rpmReadSignature failed: region trailer: BAD, tag 15872 type 2047 offset 28672 count 4096
error: nss-softokn-freebl-3.13.4-2.fc17.i686.rpm cannot be installed

why not using yum? it is the recommended way.

That rpm is probably corrupt but to verify it run:

rpm -Kv nss-softokn-freebl-3.13.4-2.fc17.i686.rpm

and look at the output

This isn't a signed RPM

run

rpm -ivh --nosignature nss-softokn-freebl-3.13.4-2.fc17.i686.rpm

if the above doesn't work try to find more with

rpm -qp  nss-softokn-freebl-3.13.4-2.fc17.i686.rpm

rpm -qpvv nss-softokn-freebl-3.13.4-2.fc17.i686.rpm

If nothing works then the rpm is corrupt
