Why after Fedora 24 can I only login to Wayland

Hi

I did the upgrade as this guide dnf upgrade Fedora

Now however I cannot login to gnome or come classic the password isn't wrong it just fails to boot in.

However changing the session to Wayland allows me to get a graphical session however I then am not able to use the terminal it flashes then closes.

I uses ctrl+alt+f3 abs git a try session I loved in a root and dnf clean and then dnf update however none found.

I reset the user password and then

Killall - 9 gdm

However after reboot still cannot access a session what should I try?
