I'm noticing an increase in the number of spam posts this week. Does askbot have any spam-fighting features that askfedora has disabled?
I flag and downrate spam posts, but I wish I could do more.
It also seems that once a mod sees them they get closed instead of being deleted altogether. Why is this? The more spam starts showing up, the more cluttered each page is going to get.
There are differences with spam, do not go into paranoia, a lot of information can not always be written entirely in Ask Fedora to be very long and complex and not support the system, sometimes it is better to give a link or mention that program, the spam always appears with information that has no relation. Those who have moderator privileges to exercise their work, respect and differentiating spam. For users who like to think negative fill many of their answers do not help anyone, you try to perform functions that do not compete, while the purpose of Ask Fedora are missing.
