Hi,

is there a repo of a backport of Kernel 4.6(.2) for Fedora 23 available?

I searched and found this http://copr-fe.cloud.fedoraproject.org/coprs/temporalia/kernel-4.6-backport/, but it seems to be outdated.

regards

Hi, I deleted my answer after realizing that this was RC4 only, and you wanted an up-to-date 4.6(.2) kernel - the latest stable.

As for your rawhide comment: Rawhide is currently using 4.7 branch, see here: https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packag...

Do you really need 4.6? Looks like you will have to build it from the sources

converted my own post to an answer :o) Just wanted to check weather it's less power consuming and it seems to be. However KVM seems to be broken for at least a Windows 7 machine, whole OS freezes, when KVM is started. Guess i have to be patient, until it's in the standard repo.

no i don't really need it, just wanted to do a test of the new cpufreq govenor and see how much they save. Anyway i found http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Kernel_Vanilla_Repositories. It's the vanilla kernel in 5 different flavours up to the latest 4.7.0-rc2. Just tried the stable variant and at least it's booting.
