Bridged networking with KVM and MacVTap

So one of the things that really interested me with the release of Fedora 16 was the inclusion of macvtap for bridged networking. Since I use KVM on my laptop I like the interfaces to be controlled by NetworkManager. From my understanding macvtap allows the interfaces to be controlled by NM and provide bridged networking for the guest OS. So I am trying this with a Debian guest and no matter what mode I set the networking to I can't seem to get it right. Does anyone have any idea as to why? Also I am trying to get this working across my wireless card.

It's a classic case of "If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is"

Here is a description of why you most likely don't want to use MacVTap yet:

Work is being done (or at least it is planned) to make MacVTap work the way you would expect it to. Maybe it will be in Fedora 17. But until then, I suggest you just stick with regular bridged networking.

NetworkMananger does not support bridging, at the moment. You would have to configure this by hand, or use virt-manager to configure the bridge interface.

This post is a wiki. Anyone with karma >750 is welcome to improve it.

So can someone post the configuration about how to get bridging working with macvtap using manual configuration?

I am trying to get two VM's on the host to communicate when using macvtap, but no success.
