Are there any guides to getting this working? I am attempting to play Minecraft. (http://www.minecraft.net/download)

I think there may be some conflicting versions of Java here.

You can get an RPM from Sun at http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Once you choose the Linux RPM for your architecture, you can install it by making the file executable and running it as root. Example commands below for the 64-it version.

chmod u+x jre-6u29-linux-x64-rpm.bin && ./jre-6u29-linux-x64-rpm.bin

Then, to launch Minecraft, you can run the following in the directory where you have the minecraft.jar file

/usr/java/jre1.6.0_29/bin/java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame
