I've got problem with Skype video (internal laptop cam). It was working earlier but from some time (can't tell exactly when so I can't tell what changed in my system - I've installed zoneminder lately but I can't tell if that's it) when I try to use video in Skype (e.g. going to settings -> video) crashes my system - I go back to login screen. The same thing happen when I try to use video capture in VLC. I tried cheese and xawtv and both applications are working fine. I've tried all solutions I could find (most of them ordered to use export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/ before calling skye) but none of them work. Can anybody help me trace what is wrong?

Small update: this seems to be Intel driver/xorg problem. I've just tried Wayland session and I can use camera in skype. In Xorg.0.log I found error:

Fatal server error:

[ 6633.050] (EE) Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting

Now that I realized that this is xorg related problem I found a fix :-) If anyone have similar issue just create (as root) a file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf with following content:

Section "Device"
    Identifier "Intel Graphic"
    Driver "intel"
    Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"

If you have issues with vlc (almost all media player) fullscreen (up scale), use this fix, too.
