Fedora Server 22 - FCGID question

I apologize upfront if this is a simple thing to fix, I'm relatively new to Linux. I've got an install of Fedora Server 22 running WordPress. I'm attempting to install a plugin, but it fails and the vendor's answer to fix the particular error I'm getting is to change the following variable "PHP_FCGID_CHILDREN to 2". Looking at the fcgid.conf file, that doesn't look like the variables that are in the file.

It seems like it should be a simple thing, but I can't figure out where to make the change at, or the proper variable to modify.

Appreciate any help

How have you configured PHP ? It seems your are using an old way. Please try with apache + mod_php or apache + php-fpm or nginx + php-fpm. All should work "out of the box"

Is it possible that PHP_FCGID_CHILDREN=2 should be set as an environment variable? If yes, you should find the script or systemd service file which starts php for you and set it before executing PHP happens.

So I found something similar in an Ubuntu forum but again being a noob to web/linux, I'm lost as to how to implement it here. It talks about using a 'wrapper' to set this particular variable, which is great. I've only got one site right now (Wordpress) and won't be using this particular system for anything other than that. That being said, I'm not sure where to call this wrapper at (I'm a Cisco engineer by trade, but haven't touched web stuff in ages...).

@remi - I believe you're right on it being an old method. I'm going to spin up a new image and try it with nginx to see if it makes a difference. Appreciate the help
