Fedora 21 is End-of-Life since December 2015 and not supported with critical updates anymore. I strongly recommend upgrading to Fedora 22, and maybe this already fixes your problem.
If you want to know which process is causing the heat-up, start top from terminal or Gnome System Monitor (gnome-system-monitor) and identify the process that keeps your CPU busy. Then, we can think about why this is happening...
Additionaly to florian's answer there are some useful tools: powertop and gnome-power-manager. Just don't believe everything powertop suggests, it may break your system, but it is quite good for diagnosing issues.
