how to roll back intel video driver
I have a Dell XPS 15 (l502x). It's an optimus machine.
Last night I updated the intel drivers with the 'Intel Graphics Installer for Linux'. Now my machine crashes back to gdm login when I try to play a video in VLC.
How can I find out what the previous driver was and return to it?
The installer adds a repository. So I thought of removing all packages from that repository but it with dependencies that would require removing 735 (!) packages.
The following packages are currently installed from the intellinuxgraphics repo:
cairo.x86_64 1.14.4-23.intel20154 @intellinuxgraphics
cairo-devel.x86_64 1.14.4-23.intel20154 @intellinuxgraphics
cairo-gobject.i686 1.14.4-23.intel20154 @intellinuxgraphics
cairo-gobject.x86_64 1.14.4-23.intel20154 @intellinuxgraphics
cairo-gobject-devel.x86_64 1.14.4-23.intel20154 @intellinuxgraphics
intel-gpu-tools.x86_64 2.99.917-23.intel20154 @intellinuxgraphics
intel-linux-graphics-installer.x86_64 1.4.0-23.intel20154 @intellinuxgraphics
libva-intel-driver.x86_64 1.6.2-23.intel20154 @intellinuxgraphics
xorg-x11-drv-intel.x86_64 2.99.917-23.intel20154 @intellinuxgraphics
I guess if I can install them from another repo and allow overwriting that should work right? However I can't find them in the *fedora repo.
Any help much appreciated.
