Intel/nouveau strange text corruption

Demo Demo

I have been having strange issues with text corruption on my laptop. Sometimes it happens after waking from suspend, but lately it has happened when I am in the middle of working. Most text is corrupted (all gtk widgets), but text in the terminal window or some parts of web pages is not. Changing the font does not fix it. Logging out and logging back in or restarting fixes the problem for a few hours, but it always recurs.

After the text becomes corrupted, TTYs don't show any text whatsoever. While I was writing this, I tried to open the log from journalctl in gedit, and the text corruption got much worse (second image).

Hardware: (using Intel and Nouveau Free drivers) VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK208M [GeForce GT 740M]

Log from the last crash (I do not know if this is related to the text corruption, but these entries were unusal and are from the same time. When the crash happens again, I will search for log files and append them here):
