Help with Partitions (Fedora 18)
I am installing fedora 18 from live CD.
When I manually create partition, and create the /boot partition of 500MB, I get the error message:
"Unable to allocate aligned partition"
However, I am successfully able to create swap and /home and / partitions with no error. I have more than enough space available for all partitons.
And when I click on "Automatically create partitions" under manual partitioning scheme, it creates the all the partitions i.e. /boot, / , /home and swap with no errors.
I have attached all the screenshots of my partitioning step.
Also, why my RHEL 6 swap partition 2.04MB also show under the Fedora section.
Why can't I unable to create /boot partition?
It might be helpful if you also provide info about the partition table before the installation. Is it MBR or GPT? Is the hard disk empty or it contains several existing partition?
please provide more info about partition type, is your "/" , "/home" and swap are primary or logical
