Recorded sound from microphone has wrong sampling rate
I have fedora23 newly reinstalled but cannot get sensible behaviour out of apps which record sound (gnome-sound-recorder, google+, skype). The audio file plays back at double speed, raising the pitch. On skype etc, the guy at the other end (my son) said I sounded like a gerbil. It doesn't make any difference whether I use the front mike or the webcam mike. Things used to work with Fedora 22 and they still do work with Linux Mint (Rosa), so it doesn't look like a hardware problem. Just occasionally, things do work but obviously I want them to work every time.
Any help much appreciated
There is a lot of information about configuring alsa in this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.ph... I have had good luck using alsamixer in the past to fix audio problems.
