My USB keyboard stopped being detect by X.Org X Server [closed]
I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of X.
For no reason whatsoever my own machine decided to cease to function with my USB keyboard, which was bypassed by going to a PS/2 one, and just now, I swapped the graphics card my my daughter's machine and, guess what, mouse works, keyboard doesn't.
Going back to the old card makes no difference.
Honestly, I'm getting so weary of these stupid issues I just wan to go and buy Windows 10 and be done with it.
—and your question for this questions-and-answers site was … ? Try Wayland instead. It’s a login option in Fedora 23. Click the little gear on the login screen, and choose GNOME on Wayland.
Yes, I know, I should have asked a specific question. My original outburst was a pure rant, borne of frustration, I am human after all.
At home I have 5 machines running Fedora, and a Mint machine in my office, so, I have my work cut out solving problems - which are added to my normal workload - and having to explain technical issues to a 12 year old girl.
USB keyboards and mice cause proper issues with Linux and that's not really a good situation. One update or install can convert the best of what silicon valley has to offer into an inert box of frustration
BIOS problem? check it, reset the CMOS, and replace the CMOS battery... These batteries do not last forever; when the BIOS battery has low voltage changes; then the BIOS has malfunction of internal components.
No, it's not a BIOS problem davidva, this the same issue on two totally different motherboards, one Intel, one AMD. And, thanks for closing the thread...you are exactly why people continue to use Windows.
@ultra sorry but your question "isn't a real question". It is written in a hostile manner, and others might take advantage and start a "flaming". Reformule your question and you will receive the ideal answer. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ask_fe...
