How to Debug NetworkManager VPN Connection to vpnc (ipsec) server?

Hi,

in F23 in successfully created a connection to a ipsec server. 2 Days ago it somehow stopped working (i set the tick at IPv4 "Use this connection only for resources on this network"). And after that i only get a notification "Connection failed. Activation of Network connection failed." Now i don't now where to look else. In systemctl log there is no mention of any try to the connection. ( https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/ques... didn't help - i think this only works for OpenVPN). Anyone knows how to debug and see, where it fails?

and since yesterday the same happened with another vpn connection using pptp?!

to answer the question myself.. ;-) Debugging of a network-manager connection is possible with the following command to turn debugging on: sudo dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.SetLogging string:"debug" string:""

and this command to turn it off (setLogging to "info") again: sudo dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.SetLogging string:"info" string:""

However, that helped not in solving the pptp vpn connection to work again, BUT: nm-connection-editor

did. There under IPv4 Settings i changed the "Method" from "automatic (VPN) addresses only" to "automatic (VPN)" and it worked again.

However it is not connecting everytime and failing 1 out of 10. And i didn't manage to get DNS Resolution to work, when theres "Only Ressources from that network" activated. But anyway..
