CUPS support for Canon Pro9000 MarkII?

Using Fedora 23 Workstation on dual-boot machine with all updates applied. Connected via USB to Canon Pro9000 MarkII ink-jet printer. Under Windows the printer driver works without issues, but under Fedora there are alignment problems, particularly apparent with images, both color and BW, in which successive passes of the print head are shifted to the right of the base image. It's as though a position count is getting corrupted and reset for every line (raster).

Printer is connected to "localhost", 600x600 HIGH image quality, RGB color, print quality standard.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and do they know of a fix for it? Canon does not offer a dedicated driver for this distribution.

Thanks, clh333
