After upgrade cannot boot into computer
Noticed that after a system update on Fedora 16 I am unable to get the laptop bootable with the 3.3 kernel however I can still use the 3.1 kernel.
With the failed boot I get a screen stateing something about the nouveau not finding anything and falling back and then it hangs on Kernal panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt
.
I have not installed the Nvidia drivers and this happens after a fresh install straight after a system update.
I also have 4 different grub menu items - two for 3.3 and two for 3.1.
Seems I also cannot install VMware Workstation 8 as it is looking for headers that are already installed and updated on my system.
Please boot into the working kernel and paste the output of:
Also try a clean update again:
Check the following files for errors after a failure (you may have to use a virtual terminal ctrl alt f3):
Try
sudo yum reinstall kernel*
