Hi I am using tcplay on F-16. I created a new encrypted volume(USB), also mapped it but unable to mount it. When I try to mount it using the command "mount /dev/mapper/truecrypt1 /mnt/" it ask for the type of filesystem type.

Can anyone help me in this?

Have you actually formatted the drive with a filesystem? After creating encrypted volume you probably want to format it with whatever filesystem of your chosing. Just creating the volume doesn't create any filesystem on it.

So what you probably want to do is:

mkfs.ext4 /dev/mapper/truecryp1

Of course that will destroy all data on that partition, but I assume you already know this since you set-up the encryption.
