After installing fedora in a partition I created while in Windows, I could not boot into Windows 10. It only shows me the Fedora normal start up and the recovery option in the grub2 menu.

fdisk -l shows

[root@Inspiron ~]# fdisk -l

Run sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg. You should see an output line like :

Found Windows Boot Manager on /dev/sda1@/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi

If not, during the boot (bios/efi step), hit the key to check if you have the boot choice at this level.

EDIT: Windows 8.x/10 are installed by default in efi. You installed Fedora in efi too with secure mode disable. That's coherent.

First, you can have a look at this post to add manually an entry in grub2 for Windows 10.

A second step, would be to ensure that Windows is available into the "boot choice menu" (before Grub/Windows loader) by hitting a key (F12 for a Dell for example).

If not, try this command : sudo efibootmgr -v to display the current efi boot configuration and check if a Windows entry exists.

  • To add a new entry : the command should be, I let you check :

efibootmgr -c -w -d /dev/sda -p 1 -l '\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi' -L "Windows Boot Manager"

with -p 1 for partition 1 where is the efi partition

  • To change/edit the bootOrder : efibootmbr -o 0002,0004,0003,0000,0001 (modify the numbers depending on your own configuration).

Generating grub configuration file ... Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-4.2.3-300.fc23.x86_64 Found initrd image: /boot/initramfs-4.2.3-300.fc23.x86_64.img Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-0-rescue-a2d4ffb2cc614c399f6e23bde9bc12ba Found initrd image: /boot/initramfs-0-rescue-a2d4ffb2cc614c399f6e23bde9bc12ba.img done

Thats what shows after the grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/efi/EFIT/fedora/grub.cfg I have secure boot off and legacy boot off. When I turn those on only network boot options are shown and it wont boot into fedora..
