I'm running Fedora 22 on Acer Aspire E5 573 with an 802.11 ac device QCA9377 Qualcomm Atheros Device 168c:0042.

I've aware that this card has been recently made to work using a fix posted at : http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.ph...

Still I'm unable to get the card to be claimed.

The following got the QCA9377 Qualcomm Atheros Device [168c:0042] working under Fedora 23.

sudo dnf install kernel-devel-$(uname -r) make automake gcc gcc-c++ git

echo "options ath10k_core skip_otp=y" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/ath10k_core.conf

wget http://filebin.ca/2LVgpjSgiT56/backpo...

tar -vxf backports-ath-2015-11-05.tar.bz2

cd backports-ath-2015-11-05

make defconfig-ath10k

make

sudo make install

git clone https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-firmw...

sudo cp -r ath10k-firmware/ath10k/ /lib/firmware/

sudo cp -r ath10k-firmware/QCA9377 /lib/firmware/ath10k/

sudo mv /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA9377/hw1.0/firmware-5.bin_WLAN.TF.1.0-00267-1 /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA9377/hw1.0/firmware-5.bin

The wget link doesn't seem to be working anymore, could you please update it?

Actually those instructions are outdated. Found this magic trick here: http://www.spinics.net/linux/fedora/f...

$ sudo  mkdirhier /usr/lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA9377/hw1.0

$ cd /usr/lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA9377/hw1.0

$ sudo wget https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-firmware/raw/master/QCA9377/hw1.0/board.bin

$ sudo wget https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-firmware/raw/master/QCA9377/hw1.0/firmware-5.bin_WLAN.TF.1.0-00267-1 -O firmware-5.bin

$ sudo wget https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-firmware/raw/master/QCA9377/hw1.0/notice.txt_WLAN.TF.1.0-00267-1 -O notice-WLAN.TF.1.0-00267-1.txt

$ sudo reboot

That got my QCA9377 card working on Fedora 23 kernel 4.4.3-300.fc23.x86_64 after recompiling the kernel with backported drivers twice (as instructed above) did not work for me.

This isn't working for me. I'm also on Fedora 23 with a QCA9377 and I'm still getting no WiFi card detected after the reboot...
