Unable to connect 3G Modem

asked 2015-11-07 07:44:45 -0500

Hi, I am new to Fedora. I've been using Ubuntu for a long time. Today I installed Fedora 23 on my Laptop and now I am unable to connect my ZTE modem. I've installed the driver that came with the Modem, using the sudo ./install.sh command, the same way I follow to install it on Ubuntu. But when I plug in the device, the modem GUI pops up and says no device found! But it works perfectly on Ubuntu.

Some additional info that I'd like to provide: 1) During the installation, I didn't set up a root password. 2) When I try to run the modem GUI from the terminal, it gives me the following error messsage: "The futex facility returned an unexpected error code./bin/Teletalk_3G: line 14: /usr/lib/CoreSDK.so:: No such file or directory" 3) When I click on the application (the traditional desktop app icon) icon, mouse pointer goes to busy mode for a while and doesn't load the GUI 4) The modem GUI only appears when I connect the device to the USB port

How can I fix this. Please help me... this modem issue is the only obstacle between me and my fedora experience :(

Welcome to ask.fedora. I'd like to know, first, how you managed to install Fedora without setting the root password, because it's a mandatory step in the installation. You may not remember doing it, but you must have.
