I would like to know anyone's experience of running these cards in Fedora 17, especially when using the fglrx & binary nvidia drivers. Also would running any of these cards on a Z77 motherboard with a Ivy Bridge processor affect anything?

My suggestion would actually be to use the integrated Intel GPU from your CPU. Intel open source drivers will be playing nicer with the rest of your system than any of the binary ones.

That is unless you are planning to do gaming on Linux. In that case I'd have no advice

Select according to driver availability,i have found NVDIA a bit difficult to get the drivers from the rest of devices.
