My question is Does Fedora 22 support NVida GT240 Graphics card better than 21 did.. I t was not easy to install the card before.. so is this a bit easier and default settings for Fedora 22?

Thanks in advance

I don't know but i would say it's the same or better. If it worked before the bigger chances are that it will work now.

I am running GT210 on F22. Install the same way and runs great. Don't really see a big difference between F21 and F22 performance-wise.

Thanks - I had all kinds of problems with my GT240 with Ver 21 - Refused to boot after plymouth screen etc etc and all kinds of crashes once it loade..Nad yes, I tried the RPM and NVida drivers... I shall try 22 witht he Card in ( as the only way I got 21 working was to take the card out) thanks..;-)

I also encountered some issues getting the initial install to work. However, I was able to find method that now works 100% of the time. Try the following after running adding the RPM Fusion repos and sudo dnf update:

sudo dnf install kernel-devel

sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia-340xx xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-340xx-libs.i686

If you get the "Oops a problem occurred..." error message, do this:

Hold CTRL + ALT + F2 to drop to a terminal login and login, then:

akmods --force

It will compile the kernel module if it failed earlier and then reboot.

Thanks For that. I run a 64 bit system so pn youer line - sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia-340xx xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-340xx-libs.i686, I assume I add X64 where your says i386 ?

akmod-nvidia-340xx installs the 64-bit driver and nvidia-340xx-libs.i686 installs the i386 libs so you can play Steam games, etc.
