Can't authenticate root on GUI
Hi there, just installed fedora 22 on my yoga 2 pro laptop and i have this problem : I can su, sudo from the terminal without a problem , but if i enter my root password in a GUI application for example in Software manager or Fedy i can't authenticate my root user.
Is there any known bug with this issue? I tried to change my root password to a simple one without any special characters but the problem still persists
This is probably a feddy issue not a Fedora issue, in that case run fedy with sudo.
If you made yourself an Administrator when you installed Fedora, you need to use your password, not root's for such things. Try running Fedy again and look closely at the dialog box; if you're an Administrator, it will be asking for your password; if not, it wants root's.
I had the problem in software manager also, I found another question here https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/ques... . After I restarted everything was ok
