Hello, you would install the screenshot tool of mate-desktop is very lightweight
dnf install mate-screenshot
later this you can launch from the menu, else running the terminal
mate-screenshot -d 1
i hope that can be useful for you.
regards :)
First you need to install a program to do the screenshot - for example one of these:
gnome-screenshot
shutter
mate-screenshot
xfce4-screenshooter
Once you have picked one and installed it using dnf install ...
, you can set up the keyboard shortcut. First you need to look at the program's help page to determine the command needed - for example:
$ xfce4-screenshooter --help
Usage:
xfce4-screenshooter [OPTION…]
Help Options:
-h, --help Show help options
--help-all Show all help options
--help-gtk Show GTK+ Options
Application Options:
-c, --clipboard Copy the screenshot to the clipboard
-d, --delay Delay in seconds before taking the screenshot
-f, --fullscreen Take a screenshot of the entire screen
-m, --mouse Display the mouse on the screenshot
-o, --open Application to open the screenshot
-r, --region Select a region to be captured by clicking a point of the screen without releasing the mouse button, dragging your mouse to the other corner of the region, and releasing the mouse button.
-s, --save Directory where the screenshot will be saved
-u, --upload Host the screenshot on ZimageZ, a free online image hosting service
-i, --imgur Host the screenshot on Imgur, a free online image hosting service
-V, --version Version information
-w, --window Take a screenshot of the active window
--display=DISPLAY X display to use
So a command to take a screenshot could be xfce4-screenshooter -f -s ~/Pictures/
, just xfce4-screenshooter
, etc depending on what you want it to do.
Next you need to set up the keyboard shortcut, which depends on the Window manager in use - by default I think it is openbox, so here are the steps for that (from the openbox wiki and the LXDE wiki):
First open up the LXDE rc file for editing:
leafpad ~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml
Then add this into the <keyboard>
section, add the following (replacing the command with the one you want to take the screenshot):
<keybind key="Print">
<action name="Execute">
<command>xfce4-screenshooter</command>
</action>
</keybind>
Save the file and restart the session either by logging out and logging in again, or by running
openbox --restart
. You then should be able to take a screenshot by pressing 'Print Screen'.
