At https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb... one reads:

This package provides the "python" executable; most of the actual implementation is within the "python-libs" package.

yet searching for package "python-libs" ( https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb... ) returns no results. What am I missing?

The package exists: https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packag... It seems to be a part of the python package.

@mithrial Thanks for info. I haven't heard about subpackages before... It looks like package db does not contain information on subpackages.

If desperate, I've found using dnf search packagename seems to work well. It turned up the subpackages referenced here.
