Hi All,

I am having a strange problem here. I had a system with f18, which was used by many users. But one problem has creeped up that whenever you reboot the system, it goes directly to one user without even logging in! After many people have complained this issue, I have kept an expiry date for that specific user (the user is not currently using the system). But after the expiry date, when I have rebooted the system, it is stuck without going to the graphics menu (users list) though I can go to the tty window and work from there.

Is there any way to get back the graphical interface? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks, Krishnakumar

Fedora 18 is beyond end of life and support is limited at best. It is difficult to know what the underlining problem and any potential solution from what you posted.

Agreed. You might, however, go to the unofficial Fedora forum because they have a sub-forum devoted to older versions of Fedora.

Have you tried this command line startx which is used to launch the X desktop. And to fix your issue, you need to provide more informations. But it should be solved from the terminal.
