I have a laptop computer(ASUS k53sv, with i5 sandybridge cpu and nvidia GT540m). The core graphics card in i5 is very good, both of performance and energy management. In win7 OS,my laptop computer can be used 4 hours without charging. But in FEDORA16, the time is 1.5 hours.I think "nouveau" is key.So i want to install Intel 12.02 graphics package drivers. (http://intellinuxgraphics.org/2012.02.html) But it looks so complex for me, and i don't know how to use so many files. Can you help me?

does your notebook surpport nvidia optimus tech? if so,i think the problem may caused by the nvidia graphc core, you may install the bumblebee to solve it.

the linux kernel includes the intel driver by default, and you may just enable the driver modules
