Hey, We pray this finds you well. Yesterday, a problem with yum was encountered. Fedora was updated the previous Thursday. This is an older box that has been upgraded and has been stable for two years. It an old e1705 that runs t7600s CPU with 4 Gb of RAM and a 1Tb Hdd. The GPU is x1400 and sucks. But reduce, reuse, whatever. It triple boots xp pro, Win7, and Fedora 20. I've done all the "clean all, clean metadata" things. I've got no proxy. It's just a Verizon Mifi POS router that we've had for 2 years. The problem points toward a -1 error, repomd.xml doesn't match metadata for updates. Specifically, http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedor... , which shows recent modifications. Is there a problem there? OR is my yum just screwed up. How do I get around the error.

http://mirror.cs.pitt.edu/fedora/linu... : [Errno -1] repomd.xml does not match metalink for updates Trying other mirror. ... and so and so forth. Thanks in advance. I'm OK. I have an UBUNTU desktop too. I was just trying to download "zenmap", which was looking for a C compiler. So, I was trying to yum gcc. Sometimes, we go off on tangents. Gary

Hi Gary. Yes, I've been having the same problem since last night. Thanks for posting...thought it was just me and I was worried about it. I also saw someone else mention it here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-newbie-8/yum-update-keeps-failing-4175542013/

I've been having the same issue with all my machines. I followed the steps outlined in the first comment to this question, and it allowed me to update the machine I tried it on (as far as I can tell). It would be nice to know what is going on:

It looks like other people are reporting the same thing:
