About network problems when connecting to vpn using vpnc

asked 2015-04-15 14:21:55 -0600

Hi all, I am pretty much new to linux. I started using it from a month back because of my job which is based on UNIX. I started with linux mint where i used to connect to remote servers using SSH after connecting to a cisco VPN using vpnc. There was no problem it worked fine. I am trying various linux distros to find out the one that suits me so i installed FEDORA 21 yesterday and i did the same thing using vpnc, the vpn connection is connecting, but once it connects I am not able to browse through the internet and I am not able to SSH to a remote host. It just hangs and after sometime it shows connection failed. I tried to find solutions and tried a few things like restarting the sshd service (or) turning off the firewalld service (or) changing the SELinux to Permissive mode but nothing seems to work. Please help me with this problem. I am pretty new to linux so i am not able to understand some complex solutions that involves troubleshooting sshd and so on. So kindly help me to solve this problem as a beginner. Thank you in advance

Hi, SSh to remote host started working after i DISABLED SELinux, but still it is working in office internet connection alone. It is not working elsewhere (i mean the vpnc connection). Any suggestions?

You should not disable SELinux!
