keyboard stopped working in grub2

My USB keyboard stopped working in the grub2 boot menu. Neither do the arrow keys work, nor the any key. I have fedora21 installed alongside Win7 (both x64), and for a long time everything was working fine. Now without any changes i simply cannot input anything inside grub. Entering UEFI setup with the keyboard setup before grub is working as well. And once fedora is loaded (boots after 5s as default entry) all is working as well. I haveent changed anything on my system and hence no explanation for this.

ok, now I'm feeling a little dumb. turns out that the large + key on my num block was clamped and always pressed. Now that I fixed that simple hardware issue everything is back to normal. I guess my cat is to blame ;-)
