Is it possible to use yum backend for PackageKit on Fedora 21?
On Fedora 21 PackageKit uses the hif backend. I would like to switch back to yum backend, if possible.
What I liked about the yum backend in Fedora 20:
- SearchGroups: Nice to have. Easy to broswe 3rd party repos.
- Package exclusion: It is really easy to configure yum.
A problem I found with the new backend is that if I try to exclude an update it will stop finding new updates until I resolve that package. In my case the package is Filezilla, 3.8 works like a charm but the update 3.9 has all sort of screen glitches. I have exluded this package in the yum configuration and it works great, finding and updating everything else.
If switching back is not possible, is there a way to confgure hif?
Many thanks in advance.
that is a good question , I mention this question in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug....
