Is there any solution to remove my gravatar from geary?
How did it get there? Where is it stored?

The avatar image is taken from the web service gravatar.com (wordpress account is needed). This is documented in Geary help (section Overview).
You must change or remove the image you added in your gravatar account, because geary does not offer any preference to handle the avatar. The usual approach of Geary developers is: do not add preference options that are not really necessary. And I totally agree in this case.
