I have no idea why because I didn't change the configuration at all. But just after last yum update my pptp connection fails.

I need the pptp connection because for my university network policy you can't access internet without it
I had the same issue; you have to allow GRE through the firewall with:
firewall-cmd --permanent --direct --add-rule ipv4 filter INPUT 0 -p gre -j ACCEPT
firewall-cmd --permanent --direct --add-rule ipv6 filter INPUT 0 -p gre -j ACCEPT
firewall-cmd --reload

EDIT: Add --permanent to the commands so the changes aren't lost after a reboot.
Its a whole year and more since this post, but this very same solution worked for me today under F24. When I installed F24 last month (replacing my very-very-old F13) my PPTP VPN connections worked fine, but after an update they did not. The thing is that the GRE protocol must be allowed in the Firewall. I applied the solution only on IPv4 and worked back again.
try this
firewall-cmd --direct --add-rule ipv4 filter INPUT 0 -p gre -j ACCEPT
firewall-cmd --direct --add-rule ipv6 filter INPUT 0 -p gre -j ACCEPT
firewall-cmd --reload
It's firewalld, its configuration apparently changed after the update and now if I stop it I can connect normally. systemctl stop firewalld.
But I would really like to keep it, so if somebody can tell me how should I change the rules to make it work again please tell me.
