I live 25 miles from Red Hat Headquarters and get the push to give it a try. I can't get software to load, zipped downloads to unzip and install. I am not feeling warm & fuzzy with this Linux version.

Do this in a Terminal as root: yum update and afterwards yum update libhif --enablerepo=updates-testing. Reboot.

Thanks Axel, I did that, you forgot to tell me how to become root, even though I am a single user administrator. I believe 1st you must type in SU -
After doing that I was able to install the browser Arora, and mail program Thunderbird. I hope to do more later.

I don't even bother using it.
Just use yum it's much easier.
yum update, yum install "package name"
very easy.
I'm having a similar problem with the software installer on Fedora 21.
I noticed the problem when I have been trying to update Flash using the "yum for Linux". It downloads, asks me for the root password, and then then eventually comes back with "Sorry, this did not work". I had assumed that Adobe just wasn't paying attention with its scripts. However, when I tried to install something directly from software using the Fedora repos, I received the same result.

I made a decision to move away from Windoz, don't want to do 8 nor 10. I have looked at Linux for years and always felt it was too hard to deal with. (for me that is, I am a carpenter not a computer guru) I got 2 empty 64 bit boxes, loaded Zorin on one and Fedora on the other.
I have made some progress with Zorin and wanted to spend some time on Fedora because of the relationship Red Hat has with Raleigh NC.
Beleave me there is a lot of doah between my ears.

What version of Fedora are you using, how are you trying to install programs and what happens when you try? I'd like to help you, but I need more information than you've given.
Sorry Guys, I don't believe I have seen a forum quite like this one, so I'm not sure how it works. I am running 21.5 64bit workstation that I downloaded and burned a dvd from. I am a windoz clicker so I click on Software, then Internet, Web Browser, Aroa, Install, and get "Sorry this did not work" this has happened more than once on selected software. I have tried the terminal route and DO NOT wetit edit getit.

Like with all tech support, the more information you give us, the better the chance that somebody will be able to help. What version of Fedora are you using, what DE (Gnome is the default.) and what program are you trying to install. I've done several searches using yum, and there doesn't seem to be any such program as "Aroa."
PostInstallerF or Fedy are third party projects; but works ;)
I am running 21 64 bit and what ever is included. Don't know how to answer further on DE. Arora is the browser that has a white polar bear covering the earth. It is in both software lineups of Fedora and Zorin. Sorry you couldn't find it.
