Fedora 21: Hang while trying to log in after update

After installing Fedora 21 in a virtual machine it was running just fine until I've updated system with sudo yum update. Since then I'm having troubles with logging in. After I enter password to log in, screen goes black and OS seems to hang: there is no mouse cursor, I can not switch tty (i.e. press Ctrl+Alt+F2 to go to console). However, very sometimes, likely once per 10-15 times, it seems to log in just fine for a reason unknown. Obviously, rebooting VM a lot until it logged in is not any comfortable.

In case this might be helpful, I use VMware Fusion 7.1.0 as virtualization software and VM firmware is EFI.

Can you SSH in to the VM from the host? Then you can check what is running or failing when your attempted login appears to fail.

Connection refused when trying to SSH into even when I'm at login screen.
