Gnome 3.14 unstable to the point of no-return??
Hello there!
I've got a load of crashes with Gnome 3.14. This is first version of Gnome that I've used (I'm KDE/Xmonad guy), and I don't get it. Crashes that are easily reproduced:
Virtualbox -> select file for ISO image -> Qt file chooser opens -> BAM, Log out we have a problem
Tweak tool -> Extensions -> try to remove extension I've installed -> BAM, <same>
Tweak tool -> Extensions -> try to change wallpaper (after crash with extension removal) -> BAM, same
Rarer crashes:
Drag window in expose mode -> crash. This is related to Dash to Dock extension, actually, but with extension installed & disabled its reproduced too, and I can't remove the extension from GUI (see p1)
Is this wgat one should expect out of Gnome? I like it, but I barely can use it.
Were earlier releases stablier? What am I doing wrong? Where should I report all of that stuff?
Your experience with a compositing window manager window manager will vary greatly depending on your video card. Gnome became more stable as support for my hardware matured, but I still switched to Xmonad about a month ago---to escape Gnome crashing. However, it might be useful to give your hardware specs in your question.
