Installed fedora 21 desktop and server on a AMD/MSI system. I start the system and it freezes. The configuration is: Memory: 6.8G Processor: AMD A10-5700 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics × 4 Graphics: Gallium 0.4 on AMD ARUBA OS type: 64-bit Disk: 484.7 GB Motherboard: MSI FM2-A75MA-E35

I am able to sort of run Ubuntu, but I do encounter errors and firefox and chrome keep crashing. Anybody have any ideas how to fix the fedora issue. Please let me know know if more information is required.

I don't know if it is related but I experienced a power management problem on one of my systems. It has a Gigabyte FS1b GA-AM1M-S2H and an AMD Athlon 5350 Kabini APU. It worked okay and did not freeze during use with F20 GNOME and MATE-Compiz. However when I shut the PC down, it would not turn on again until I switched it off at the mains as well. This only happened with Fedora installed. Windows 7 only and I can turn it on again without having to 'reset' the power supply to the computer. Either something EUFI BIOS related or to do with power management.

So whether your issue relates to power management modes may be worth looking at. you could try disabling acpi for example using grub (add acpi=off at the end of the boot command)to see if it makes any difference.

Sounds to me like your hardware is unstable for some reason. Do you have an Ultimate Boot CD or some other analogous diagnostic toolkit lying around? If I were you, I'd test all the components for any sign of failure. When multiple operating systems fail on the same hardware, it's likely the hardware that is at fault.
