I edit your question to remove the email address; adding it is bait for spam, and there's a built-in way for people to answer your questions right on the site.

Also, I'm going to say it anyway, even knowing you won't like it: Don't do that. Desktop environments don't need root privileges to run. You should only use root privileges for things that need it.

You should tell us about the problem you're trying to solve by doing this, instead of the problem you're having with the way you've decided to solve the real problem.

You may have to be more polite in a forum where users are just trying to help you.

The right answer isn't always the one you're looking for. The point is to help the best way we know how, and sometimes that includes pointing out that the premise of a question isn't a good idea.

Mate @efgtest , please don't get this wrong, but just using "please" and "thank you" doesn't mean that we are being polite.

Why didn't you just use text logon and start a graphics session from there? Use CTRL-ALT-F2 to get a text logon, logon using 'root' and the root password, then run startx. If that fails and complains that the screen is already in use try startx -- :1.

I think, perhaps, you need to chill just a little. This site is manned by volunteers, who give their time freely, having a bit of respect for them goes a long way to helping you get the answer you want.

As for this answer, it's clearly better than the convoluted one you have given. This is a public board, and anyone coming here with the same question, especially new users, could easily be confused by your solution. I certainly wouldn't follow it.

I answered your question directly. I answered it clearly. It is a valid alternative answer. Calm down.
