Where is the Gnome 3.10 clock applet stored?

The clock applet's standard format is day of week and time of day: Wed 23:32

I want to add seconds and the full date. For whatever reason (probably compatibility) the applet library does not provide a working applet, allow modifying the existing one, nor install a more flexible one.

Someplace, there must be a bit of code doing this, so I expect to edit it without the trouble of installing another applet.

Simply run these commands in Terminal:

  • For seconds: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface clock-show-seconds true

  • For date: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface clock-show-date true
