Fedora 21: Typeahead search in Nautilus possible?

I just migrated from Ubuntu GNOME, as I wanted to try a cleaned GNOME experience. All is well and good, and I'm already enojying the features of GNOME 3.14.

I am however driven mad by the recursive search of Nautilus (Files 3.14.2).

Is there some way I can get the typeahead search activated? Maybe some patch or the like?

The type-ahead search is not supported in GNOME. It works in Ubuntu, because Ubuntu developers created a patch to re-enable this behaviour but it has never been accepted by GNOME developers.

Thank you. Can I implement that patch in Fedora 21?

Might be easier to just install nemo and use that.

True. I appreciate the suggestion, and I know that there are many alternative files browsers I could use that would provide the fucntionality, but I am in particular interested in obtaining the fucntionality with Nautilus :)
