No, Fedora 21 KDE features Applications and Platform 4.14.2 as the default desktop.

Plasma 5 is not even available in stable Fedora repository yet. You can still run it on Fedora 20 and 21 via COPR repository. Here are the instructions for you.

Install KDE Frameworks
```
yum install kf5-\*
```

Install Plasma 5 COPR repository and Plasma 5

dnf copr enable dvratil/plasma-5        #You need "dnf-plugins-core" to use this command
yum install plasma-5

Some KDE 4 packages like ksysgaurd, kde-workspace-devel, etc. will conflict with plasma-workspace. It is generally safe to remove them but please pay diligent attention to what you end up removing.

Plasma 5 replaces KDE 4. It is not co-installable. It will be hard to go back to KDE 4 once you upgrade to Plasma 5 via current method.

I would read Plamsa 5.1 Errata before installing it.

Good answer! I'm using this copr now and enjoying it. However, 'default' might be the wrong term here, without context; there are multiple Fedora spins and this answer pertains to the KDE spin.

Right, Fedora 21 Workstation defaults to GNOME (3.14.x), unfortunately. And the Server and Cloud products do not focus on desktop environments at all. KDE Plasma 4 is the default on the Fedora 21 KDE Spin. At the time of this writing (shortly after the Fedora 21 Beta release), the included versions are KDE Plasma Workspaces 4.11.13 and KDE Applications 4.14.2. (The KDE Plasma Workspaces 4.11.13 release was released together with the KDE Applications 4.14.2. 4.11.x LTS is the last 4.x release series of the KDE Plasma Workspaces.)
