Is there any alternative to Acronis True Image which supports ext4/btrfs and has the same capabilities? I want:

  • compression
  • partition/disk level and also file level backup and restore
  • image mounting
  • image integrity verification

Btrfs and EXT4 (over-LVM) have the option to do a live snapshots, which then can be dumpted via simple dd command or use a backup sulotion like rsnapshot or bacula so do the backup.

You can also find more application by google-ing for `linux backup solutions' or by checking the Arch wiki page for backup tools

BTRFS (filesystem) is one of the best solutions for snapshots. Although I have not tested the dd with a snapshot and try to restore it.

The Redo Backup software is might what you need. It's a distribution independent tool, it's based on Clonezilla, but it's far easiest tool (IMHO) than Clonezilla is.

Here is the official page
