Fresh install of Fedora 20 on a VM, virtualbox seamless mode seems to be broken

Previously when I installed Fedora, maybe 16 or so, in my VM and did seamless mode on my windows 7 box, I got the gnome 3 bar to show up at the top of my windows machine (so I could use it from windows). After a fresh reinstall I can't seem to replicate this behavior.

I have installed the Virtualbox Guest Additions in my VM and enabled 3D acceleration, as well as giving it more video memory (64mb).

Also, bonus points if someone can tell me why I now have a blue border (aka, the default fedora desktop background - I haven't changed it) around my seamless windows (and if/how it can be removed):
