Im hoping to make the switch from ubuntu to fedora soon, and the biggest facilitator for me would be to have a very lightweight desktop environment (and something that is in active development).
My preference would be gnome flashback, is that available for use on fedora? If not, perhaps via repo?
Gnome session flashback is not available at Official repositories and I don't know any third party repo which maintain it.
Gnome Classic (gnome-classic-session) is available if you want to try.
sudo yum install gnome-classic-session
then logout and choose Gnome Classic. (but I don't think it has much difference from GNOME Shell on resources. I think it's just another interface - more classic - and the only difference is the UI)
On the other hand, a very good alternative is
MATE, which is a pure fork of GNOME 2 and very lightweight. Either you will install it alongside GNOME(3.x) ,
sudo yum install @MATE
or better
download and install the Fedora MATE spin.
